Casa Rio Beauty Salon shopfront at night in JVC, Dubai, with the lit signage and window graphic

Casa Rio Beauty Salon, JVC Dubai: Brand Identity, Signage and Social Media

Location: Jumeirah Village Circle, DubaiYear: 2025

Casa Rio, a ladies’ salon in Jumeirah Village Circle, needed beauty salon branding Dubai passers-by could read from the road and the salon team could run on its own. Kenania designed a rose-gold identity, a built shopfront and an offer template the salon posts from every week without a designer.

Casa Rio is a ladies’ beauty salon in Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai. The owner wanted a brand that reads as premium from the street, fits a small shopfront and holds up under the weekly offers a salon has to post to stay busy. We treated the identity, the signage and the social media system as one beauty salon branding Dubai brief, so each part was drawn knowing what the other two would have to carry.

Identity and signage

The wordmark is a thin serif in rose gold set between two vertical bars, with “Beauty Salon” letter-spaced underneath. The bars frame a light typeface so it holds its own on a busy street, and they give the name a fixed width that fits a standard signband. On the facade the mark is cut in illuminated letters on a stone fascia.

The window carries the line “This is where beauty happens” in the same rose gold, so the sign and the glass read as one composition from across the road. The photographs are of the built shopfront: the channel letters in close-up, and the whole front at night with the letters lit.

The offer system

Salons live on packages: colour with a treatment, a facial with a mani-pedi, brows with lashes. A new poster design every week would have given the feed a new look every week, so we built one template instead. A full-bleed photograph of the treatment fills the frame, the wordmark sits in a corner, the package name is set in the serif and the price sits in a rose-gold band. The team can produce a new offer in minutes and every post still looks like Casa Rio.

The first set of posts shows how much one layout can hold. One pairs a hair protein treatment with eyebrow threading and a gel mani-pedi. Another sells eyebrow threading with brow and lash lifting, and a third combines a full hair colour with an organic hair treatment, nano mist and a blow dry.

The rest bundle a hydra facial with a haircut, blow dry and classic mani-pedi; a classic mani-pedi with hands and foot collagen; a gelish mani-pedi with an aloe vera jelly spa; and a classic mani-pedi with roots colour. Some offers name two services and some name four, and the photograph, the wordmark and the price band stay in the same place either way.

Beauty salon branding Dubai drivers can read at thirty metres

A neighbourhood salon in Dubai is often first seen from a car window. The fascia has to be legible at thirty metres in daylight and lit after dark, the window has to say what happens inside without a poster, and the name has to hold its own next to the cafés and clinics on the same block. Beauty salon branding Dubai landlords approve has rules as well. Mall or building management and Dubai Municipality check signage size and illumination, so we drew the wordmark to sit inside a standard signband from day one.

Casa Rio’s thin serif reads as premium at that distance because it is spaced generously and framed by the two vertical bars, which give a light typeface enough presence on a stone fascia.

One mark at two very different sizes

The same wordmark has to work across the full width of the signband and in the corner of a post seen on a phone. The bars and the letter spacing keep the name recognisable at both sizes, so a client who walks past the salon and a client who scrolls past an offer see the same mark. Any beauty salon branding Dubai shoppers meet both on the street and on a phone has to pass that test.

Rose gold on stone, glass and screen

Rose gold is the one colour that carries the identity. It is the colour of the illuminated letters on the stone fascia, of the tagline on the window and of the price band on every offer post. Keeping the brand to a single metallic tone means the shopfront and the feed match without a long list of rules for the team to remember.

The window line, “This is where beauty happens”, does the job a poster would otherwise do. It tells people on the pavement what the shop is for, and because it is set in the same rose gold as the sign above it, the glass reads as part of the fascia.

From artwork to channel letters

We drew the facade signage and the window graphics for the sign maker, so the letters went to fabrication as we designed them. The photographs on this page are of the finished shopfront, and they show how the identity held up in fabrication. The rose gold survived the move into channel letters, the stone fascia carries the weight of the illuminated mark, and the window graphic went onto the glass without losing its letter spacing.

The shopfront by day and by night

By day the stone fascia sits behind the rose-gold letters, and the colour stands out against it without any light; the close-up shows the depth of the channel letters against the stone. After dark the illumination takes over. The lit letters come forward with the window line on the glass beside them, and that pair is what a passing driver sees. In both cases the mark has to read from the shape of its letters alone, which is what the generous spacing and the two bars give it.

How the offer template works

The part of beauty salon branding Dubai salons use every day is the offer template; the wordmark is drawn once. The template has three layouts: one for a single treatment, one for a bundle and one for a price drop. Each has fixed positions for the photograph, the price and the booking line, so the salon changes only the picture and the words. Because the price never moves, a regular follower learns where to look, and the rose-gold band becomes a signal that a post is an offer.

Making a new offer means choosing the layout, dropping in a photograph of the treatment, typing the package name and setting the price in the band. Photography direction was part of our scope, so each post leads with a full-bleed image of the treatment itself, whether hair, hands, brows or skin. The feed gets its variety from the photographs while the frame around them stays constant. However many posts go up, the feed reads as one salon.

What stays fixed and what changes

The template separates what never moves from what the team changes each week. The wordmark in the corner, the serif used for the package name, the rose gold of the price band and the positions of the photograph, the price and the booking line stay fixed. The photograph, the package name, the price itself and the choice of layout change. Anyone on the team can prepare an offer without touching the identity.

Built around the services Casa Rio sells

The offers on this page fall into three families. Hair covers the protein treatment, full colour with an organic treatment and nano mist, and roots colour. Hands and feet run from the classic mani-pedi to gel, collagen and aloe vera spa versions. Face and brows take in the hydra facial, eyebrow threading, and brow and lash lifting. A template built from the salon’s real menu is the practical core of beauty salon branding Dubai salons post from every week. Casa Rio’s one template covers all three families, and the positions of the photograph, the price and the booking line hold whether a package names two services or four.

What the salon team works from

The brand file collects the wordmark, the rose gold, the typography and the offer template in one place, so whoever posts that week can apply the identity without a designer. It is the last thing we deliver in a beauty salon branding Dubai project like this one, and the salon keeps working from it after handover.

Delivery from the wordmark to the lit fascia is what a studio that also designs interiors can offer, and the same identity can be carried into an interior fit-out.

Scope

  • Wordmark, colour and typography
  • Facade signage and window graphics, drawn for the sign maker
  • Social media offer template and the first set of posts
  • Photography direction for treatments
  • Brand file for the salon team

Kenania designs identities and signage for salons, clinics and restaurants across Dubai from its office in the city. A beauty salon branding Dubai project with us can run from the wordmark through to the interior fit-out, and the Dubai fit-out page sets out scope and fees.
