What should an interior design company in Damascus give you before the finishing starts?
Kenania is an interior design company in Damascus with its own office in the city, designing apartments, villas, restaurants, shops and landscape across Damascus and Rif Dimashq, for residents and for Syrians abroad.
Many homes in Damascus are still finished the traditional way: the contractor designs as the work goes, the walls go up, then the ceilings, and only then does someone ask where the lights should have been. A complete design reverses that order. Walls, electrical points, plumbing, ceilings and joinery are fixed on paper first, so the finishing crew prices and builds a plan instead of improvising one, and the cost can be estimated before work begins. This is how the interior designers and architects in our Damascus office work: we visit the apartment or villa, agree the layout, develop the spaces in 3D, then issue execution drawings, a material schedule and a bill of quantities. Because we do not sell the finishing ourselves, those drawings protect your budget, not a contractor’s margin.
A Damascus design has to account for more than style: electrical layouts that allow for solar or battery backup, water tanks and pumps that can be reached for service, and finishes that local workshops know how to install and repair. When the brief calls for it, we bring in Damascene detail, stone, inlaid wood and ornament, in the spirit of the Islamic-style majlis and head office we designed in Qatar; when it calls for modern or classic-modern, the drawings are just as precise.
If you live outside Syria and are renovating a family home in Damascus, the project can run online: reviews on video calls, 3D you can approve from anywhere, and site visits by our Damascus team at the milestones set in the contract. We take projects across Damascus and Rif Dimashq, from Malki, Abu Rummaneh and Mezzeh to Yaafour and Sabboura, and in Latakia, Homs and Aleppo.
Every set our interior design company in Damascus issues covers architecture and interiors; structural changes and permit drawings are certified by an engineer registered with the Syrian engineers’ syndicate, and we coordinate with yours directly.

What we design in Damascus
Interiors, architecture, landscape and brand identity in one team. Everything below is what an interior design company in Damascus delivers.
Apartments
Space planning, ceilings, lighting and joinery for apartments in Malki, Abu Rummaneh, Mezzeh and Kafr Sousa, settled before the finishing starts.
Villas & family homes
Reception, family living and bedrooms in modern, classic-modern or neo-classical language, with facades and gardens from the same team.
Gardens & commercial landscape
Villa gardens, courtyards and commercial landscape planned for shade, water use and upkeep, as in our 2015 Damascus project.
Restaurants & cafés
Dining rooms, bars and terraces designed around the brand, the seating count and the kitchen.
Shops & showrooms
Display, lighting and shopfronts that sell the product, with signage and identity when the brand needs them.
Brand identity for local businesses
Logos, packaging and signage for food brands, clinics and shops opening or relaunching in Syria.
Projects Damascus clients ask about
Work an interior design company in Damascus can point to: a commercial landscape in the city, and majlis and villa interiors from our other offices.

Commercial landscape, Damascus
Gardens, water features and walkways between the buildings, designed in 2015 for how the place will look years after handover.

Islamic-style majlis and head office, Qatar
Arches, carved screens and a crystal ceiling: majlis, reception and meeting rooms designed in 2017.

Neo-classical villa interior, Kuala Lumpur
Reception rooms in teal marble and gold, with bespoke joinery. October 2017.
How a Damascus project runs
Four stages, each closed with your written approval before the next one starts. This is how a project with an interior design company in Damascus runs, from brief to site.
01
Site visit & brief
We visit the apartment or villa, check or measure the plan and confirm scope, fee and timeline in a written proposal.
02
Layout
Walls, furniture and circulation agreed in plan before any 3D work.
03
3D design
Photorealistic 3D of the spaces in the contract, with materials and lighting revised until approved.
04
Drawings & site support
Execution drawings, material schedule and BOQ for your finishing contractor, then site visits at agreed milestones.
How we quote in Syria
Every Damascus project is quoted as a fixed fee for a written scope, sent within two working days of receiving the plan and photos. Three things set the number.
Area and floors
The fee follows the square metres and the number of floors; an apartment with its roof terrace or garden is quoted as one project.
Stages and 3D views
Layout only, layout and 3D, or the full package with execution drawings and BOQ. The proposal prices each stage and names every 3D view.
Site visits
Visits during the finishing are agreed in the contract, including for owners who follow the project from abroad.
Engineering certification for permits and any structural study are provided by a syndicate-registered engineer and listed separately.
Questions Damascus clients ask
Do you have an office in Damascus?
Yes. Damascus is one of our four offices, with Dubai, Cairo and Kuala Lumpur. Meetings are held at your site or at the office, and online for clients abroad.
Do you carry out the finishing work?
We are a design studio, not a finishing contractor. We give your contractor execution drawings, a material schedule and a BOQ and review the work at agreed site visits. Because every contractor prices the same drawings, you can compare quotes line by line.
I live abroad. Can the project run remotely?
Yes. Reviews happen on video calls, you approve the layout and 3D online, and our Damascus team visits the site at the milestones set in the contract.
Do you design in a traditional Damascene style?
When the brief calls for it. We work with stone, inlaid wood and Islamic ornament, as in our Islamic-style majlis and head office, and equally in modern and classic-modern styles.
Do you design villa gardens and landscape?
Yes. Our commercial landscape in Damascus (2015) is one example, and we design villa gardens and courtyards with the same attention to shade, water and upkeep.
Why choose Kenania as your interior design company in Damascus?
Because an interior design company in Damascus should hand you a design the finishing contractor can build without guessing. Our Damascus office handles meetings and site visits, our studios in Dubai, Cairo and Kuala Lumpur add 3D and detailing capacity, and the fee is fixed in writing before design starts.
